Samuel Johnson169, 170, 171 was born 1833 in New Jersey171, and died Aft. 1880. He married Amanda Miller.

Sam was moving his family around between 1870 and 1880 as we know that the family is in Ohio in 1870, and his daughter Lucy was born in Missouri in 1873 and by 1880 they are in Talladega, Al where he is working as a Collier.
I am uncertain as to Samuel's whereabouts prior to 1870. There are several good candidates, some of whom are still in Ohio and at least one that is in Georgia. I don't think that Sam had married Amanda by 1870 because I can't find any Sam of the right age with a wife Amanda.
I think Sam had died by 1900 as I found Amanda living with her Nephew (I presume this is the son of a brother of Sam's) living in Munford with his wife and family. Unfortunately I am unable to read his name. Ancestry seems to think his name is George and he was b about 1852 in Ohio which would be consistant with Samuel living in Ohio for a while.
It may require a bit more research to clear some of this up.

In Alabama deaths 1908-1957 there is a Samuel Johnson that died on Feb 1, 1912 but there is no other information about this Sam Johnson for me to go on so I am unsure if this is our Sam or not.
