The Houghtons of Hampshire Family Genealogy

Hi, I'm Keith Houghton and for some years I've been researching my family history. To date (2007) I've managed to track back the family to William Houghton (born c.1430) at Colemore, Hampshire, UK. Early ancestors worked on the land and became very wealthy yeoman farmers (1611 Will & Inventory) Later in the mid-18th century my branch diversified and became papermakers in and around the villages of Curdridge, Bishop's Waltham and South Stoneham, Hampshire. A shop to sell the paper products was eventually opened in New Bond Street in London and also sold books, newspapers and fine stationery products. The business was eventually taken over in the early 20th century by Aspreys of Bond Street. Various branches of the family settled in America, South Africa and Australia. I would be pleased to hear from anybody who thinks they might be related.
