I have been researching my family lines since 1988. There are some lines in which I have been very successful and other lines in which I am totally stumped! I am hoping Family Tree Maker online users will help me with my elusive ancestors. Some of the lines I am working on are BUFFINGTON, SHANKS and SCALLORN from mainly AL area, GRUBB fom PA, LUNSFORD from NC, YOUNG, BLAIR and HARRISON from TN area. Also HOLZ, HERRMANN, FAUST, ULBRICHT, AND WOLGAST all from Germany. The German families settled first in the Austin and Washington counties of TX, before finally settling in Burleson Co. TX. My Buffingtons settled in Milam County. I am very interested and trying to locate any information on John R. LUNSFORD, b:1815, NC, wife; Sarah/Sallie HARRISON, b:1830 TN. They married in Robertson Co. TX in 1845 and then settled in Lampasas Co.TX. Sallie was reported to be of Cherokee lineage. I can find no verification of this, nor can I get these two back out of Texas, or find any of their parents/siblings. I am also having problems getting data on Demetrius E. YOUNG, b:1830 TN and his wife; Martha Ann BLAIR. These two married before 1854, location ?? Their daughter, my great grandmother; Emma Young was born in TX, ca. 1864. Her sister, Molly was born in TN, 1854 and her brother, William J. was born in TN, 1859. Demetrius died while serving in Civil War,ca. 1864. He was in the Battle at Millikin's Bend, but lived to write home to Martha about it. I would hope to locate his place of burial as well as any other info on this family, especially parents and siblings of Demetrius and Martha. Martha Blair Young marries Jackson ROYALL in Bell Co. TX, 1865, but settles in Milam Co.TX, where she had and raised a second family. Any information concerning areas and surnames I have mentioned, will be greatly appreciated. I will gladly share data that I do have and will try to help, when I can, in the Burleson Co. Tx area. Thanks for visiting me. Happy Hunting! |
