I am researching the Johan Hadel family from Austria or Germany. He married Marie Teresa Gregory in 1883 in Austria or Germany. Their first child,my grandmother, was Walburga Hadel-Shaw born in
Westphalia, Germany in 1885. The family migrated to the United States on board the Wilhemina from Holland. They settled in Kansas City, Missouri in the 1900's. Their other children included: Mary who was born aboard ship 1886,Teresa 1889,Louise 1890,Frank 1893,Joe 1901,Bill 1904. I have acquired information from my mother Mary Shaw-Buzzell. Also from the Hadel Family Reunion of 1995, with much help from a cousin Jimmy Hadel of Overland Park KS. I am still compiling a pictorial collection of Johan and Marie's children-I still need any picture of Joseph Otto 1901-1963;Bill or William Carl Hadel and wife Julia (children : Bill Jr. , Julie Reichenberger, Rev. Father Dick Hadel of St. Louis, Mo.)I would very much like to have a picture of Johan's wife Marie Teresa Gregory. I have been told that many pictures were lost in a house fire in Kansas City yet I hope one exists to place beside Johan's portrait (on his Austrian Army horse.). My grandmother, Walburga, met Edward Burton Shaw who worked on the KC street cars. They married in Dodge City Kansas in 1900. They moved to LaJunta Colo. and had two sons Edward and Robert. They then moved to Wellington Ks. where he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. My mother Mary Shaw Buzzell was born in Wellington Kansas as well as brother John, Francis, and sister Margaret Shaw Wilson. Anyone interested in that lineage - I have a have an Edwards Genealogical Chart tracing Edward Burton Shaw's ancestry back to 1731. I would like to trace that lineage as well. Please contact me if interested in finding common Shaw roots. My grandfather: Edward Burton Shaw, his father was Robert Emmet Shaw born Aug 21st, 1885 KC.,MO. Married to Eva Hornady (sp.?),their other children were:Everett d.Nov 23, 1914, Earnest, Ethel, and Earl. Robert E. Shaw's parents were John Shaw and Sallie Lindley 1833 date.
