I am currently trying to research the Waterman Howland family. I have not had much difficulty in doing so, until I try and find Waterman's ancestors. I have been working on this family for sometime now and have been unable to find any information on Waterman's life prior to his marriage in 1804.In 1804, he married Mary Ann Wilson, daughter of Ami and Anna Munro Wilson. Mary was called "Polly" by her family. She was born in Plainfield, New Hampshire on July 6, 1787. They married in New Haven, Addison County, Vermont, on Feb. 1, 1804. They had eight children. The children are: Electa, born abt 1805; Wilson, born abt 1807; Cordelia, born abt 1811, Watterman Jr., born abt 1809; Norman, born abt 1813; Leucretia, born abt 1815; Louis, born abt 1819, and Hiram Dorman, born in 1823. All of these children were born in Vermont with the exception of Hiram. Hiram was born in Orleans, Ontario County, New York. Sometime between Louis' birth and Hiram's birth, the family moved to the Palmyria, New York area. Palmyria is a stone throw from Orleans. |
