I am researching the Ball family of Fairfax and Stafford Counties in Virginia.I'm currently looking for information on Captain George Ball of Fairfax County b. 1749 d. 1835 and married Elizabeth Tunnell in 1768. His children are Moses Ball, Jr., Martha Ball, John Ball, James Ballard Ball, Sarah Janey Ball, Robert Ball, William Ball and Nancy Ann Ball. He is the son of Moses Ball, Sr. and Ann Brasher of Fairfax County.
I need information that will prove or lead to proof that he was a captain in the Revolutionary War. I have visited several websites that list him as a captain and I have found a book called the "Ball Family History" that lists him as a captain in the Virginia regiment. This book doesn't say that he served in the Revolutionary War, but I'm assuming that he did since it was during that time period. He is my G-G-G-G-G grandfather and any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also looking for information that will prove or lead to the proof of the father/son relationship between John Ball of Stafford County, Virginia and Richard Ball, the great uncle of President George Washington.
John Ball of Stafford County was born Abt. 1670 and died on November 14, 1722. He was married to Winifred Williams and is supposed to be the son of Richard Ball. Richard Ball was born in 1645, died abt. 1717 and was married to Elizabeth Linton. He is the son of Col. William Ball.
I have visited many websites on the Internet that list Richard Ball as the father of John Ball, but I need additional information or proof. If you have any information, please contact me at april.howard@mindspring.com.
Thanks!
