| WANTED: INFORMATION ON THE HOWARD’S OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, PA My wife and I are searching for information on my Grandfather, Phillip Taylor Howard We would like to know whether or not he had any brothers or sisters. Also we are searching for information on his parents; His Mother’s maiden name; Where his Father (George Taylor Howard) was born or where his Mother (Mary) was born. Phillip Taylor Howard’s death certificate lists his birthplace as Jefferson County, Pennsylvania and his occupation as farmer. Phillip Taylor Howard purchased 1 acre and 40 perches of land for $50.00 from Thomas Mabon 4/4/1878. This land bordered land owned by Ann McCoy (his wife’s mother) and land of Rachel J. Swartz. Phillip Taylor Howard later purchased 2 acres and 43 perches of land for $100.00 from J. Mabon on 3/5/1883 Mabon received the land by deed of conveyance from John Ligot and wife 7/16/1857. Any information anyone can provide will certainly be appreciated. Following is some of the information we have pertaining to Phillip Taylor Howard and some of his descendants Phillip Taylor Howard (November 30, 1857-July 18, 1931) had two wives. I am a descendant of Philllip Taylor Howard and his second wife, Laura Marym Reed. Phillip Taylor Howard's Fathers name was: George Taylor Howard; His Mother’s first name was Mary Following is some information pertaining to Jennie Rebecca McCoy (Phillip's first wife - b1859/Aug1860- dOctober 12, 1890). She may also have been known as Jane Howard as this name is on her tombstone. Her Father was Archibald McCoy, Her Mother’s first name was Annie Children by Phillip Taylor Howard and first wife Jennie Rebecca McCoy: 1. Mary Elizabeth Howard (April 27, 1878-July 27, 1967) m Elmer E Parson 2. William Henry Harrison Howard (Aug 24, 1879-March 11, 1971 mMary Belle Parson 3. Samuel W. Howard (March 07, 1881-November 08, 1900) 4. Joseph Nathaniel Howard (Feb 22, 1883-1963) m Alice Blanche Jenkins(1891-1991) 5. Thomas Jefferson Maybon Howard (Mar 22, 1884-May 05, 1950) mBirdie Caroline Rutter 6. George Howard (July 22, 1885-1979) m Allie Applegate It was reported that George went to Kentucky where he married Allie Applegate 7. Martha Howard (May 17, 1887-unknown) m Archie Rodgers 8. Walter Whoyt Laird Howard (August 22, 1888-March 30, 1965) mAnnie Elma Frain 9. Child died at birth, no name given, 1890. Jennie Rebecca McCoy died at same time. Following is some information pertaining to Laura Marym Reed, (Phillip's second wife - b29Jun1874 - d27Apr1958). Laura Marym Reed had a sister (Elizabeth). Elizabeth’s husband’s last name was Shomo. Agnes Olive Howard (February 02, 1901- June 1981) m Clarence Landsperger 7. Johnnie Clare Howard (April 30, 1902- July 23, 1904) 8. Elmer Elsworth Howard (April 11, 1903-Unknown) m Margaret A.
