SCHNEIDER FAMILY OF NIEDEREGGENEN , EMMENDINGEN, AND GENEVA

These pages recount the history and heritage of the family of Georg Friedrich SCHNEIDER, "the Messerschmidt" from Niedereggenen, Baden, Germany and his wife, Karoline GIMPEL of Emmendingen, Baden, Germany and, later, Geneva, Switzerland. Their sons, August and Wilhelm Schneider, emigrated to the U.S. in the 1850's, settling in New Bremen and Piqua, Ohio.

Ancestral files include the following surnames: SCHNEIDER, GIMPEL, KRAYER, GUGELMEYER, TRERIS, STAUBER, NAGEL, GRETHER, REINACHER, SCHULZ. Ancestral villages include Emmendingen, Niedereggenen, Wiechs bei Schopfheim, Marlburg, Raitbach, and Boetzingen, all in Baden, Germany.
