Find Family
Welcome Family and Friends!

This site is dedicated in loving memory of my paternal grandmother Vivien Mae (Strong) Coggins of Lynn, Massachusetts. Sources of information are from vital records, census data, published genealogies, local histories, documents from the U.S. National Archives, and correspondence with relatives. Vivien is found in a line brought down from Elder John Strong of Northampton, Massachusetts that is not included in Benjamin Dwight's book in his history of the Strong family. She was an eighth great granddaughter to Elder John through his son John Jr., and she was also a distant cousin to Princess Diana. For those of you who are not familiar with the Strong family history, the Strong Family Association of America has a very nice website with lot's of information on them. I have included a link below.

I have been researching our Strong and Coggins families for about ten years now and have been very lucky thus far in finding some lost family members! My niece Juliet Coggins has been working very hard on the Coggins line for quite some time now, and has a very nice family tree put together at the site included in the links below. My own cousin Carol (Coggins) Foster found us online in 2006, and she has also shared family information. We are so grateful for Carol and welcome her to the fold!

My third cousin Paul Scheuritzel recently found our family tree and he has shared some very important information from the U.S. National Archives on our mutual great great grandfather Sylvester Strong that verifies the family record. Those papers are certainly a treasure, and we can't thank you enough Paul for sharing them with us. A warm welcome to you from our family!

Some connecting families to the Strong line are that of Burt and Parker. For that information, I am very grateful to my fifth cousin Audrey Koopikka who has been researching those lines for years and has shared her information with me. She has extensive information on these families in her family tree, and I have included some links below to some trees and a couple of her photos that she has shared on the Internet. For those of you not familiar with the Parker line, they are the famous Parker's of Lexington, Massachusetts during the Revolutionary War. And special thanks to my distant Nova Scotian Coggins cousin, Margo Wilkinson, for pointing me in the direction of Audrey, and also for sharing her information on the Coggins family!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or corrections. Additional information is always welcome and I am also willing to share the information that I have.

Sincerely,
Debbie Howard
