He married ELLEN CHRISTINE WAHL June 18, 1896 in Sidnaw, Michigan, daughter of JOHN WAHL and MARIA. She was born May 07, 1878 in Sweden, and died December 02, 1960 in Ironwood, Michigan.

Notes for GUSTAF JOHNSON:
According to his obituary dates July 11, 1951, he died at 2:15 a.m. after a year and a half illness.
He died in his home. The obituary indicates that he came to the United States from Sweden in 1886, moving to Sidnaw, Michigan in 1892, moving to Bergland, Michigan in 1903 and Ironwood, Michigan in 1918 where he was employed in the lumber business. Gust was employed by Olson and Bergquist for 11 years, moving for a brief time to Octonagon, Michigan, returning to Ironwood in May 1, 1944, entering the employ of the Laird Lumber, Co. from which he retired on November 1, 1945.

Gust was a charter member of the Ontonagon Odd Fellows Lodge, served as township clerk for two terms, and was a member of the Matchwood Township board of education.

The obituary indicates that he and Ellen Christine Wahl were married on June 18, 1896, family indicates they believe the date to have been January 18, 1896. Funeral service performed by Rev. Elmer Wallin of the Mission Covenant Church.
