| Gust Johnson, a 17 year old immigrant arrived in New York harbor on June 25, 1886 following a 16 day boat journey from Bolmen, Sweden. He travelled by train beginning on June 27, 1886, through Pennsylvania to "Crooked Lake" (Jennings) Michigan, arriving on June 29, 1886, twenty one days after he had left home to join his brothers Andreen and August. I am Gust Johnson's great-granddaughter and am known to my family as "Deedee". In spite of limited resources and time, I hope to create a family tree for the family of Gust Johnson that accurately reflects its growth and expansion since the first member of our clan arrived on this nation's shores. |
