| SEVERAL RELATIVES CONNECTED WITH THE TX LOWRIES AND THE S.C./TX TAYLORS ARE RESEARCHING THE TAYLOR, LOWRIE, AND CATHCART FAMILIES. ALL SEEM TO BE THUS FAR UNABLE TO THE NAMES OF THE PARENTS OF BENJAMIN BRANNON TAYLOR, 1828-1904. B.B. TAYLOR APPEARS IN THE 1850 U.S. CENSUS FOR YORK DISTRICT, S.C., AGE 23, LIVING IN THE HOUSEHOLD OF JOHN ROGERS AND EMPLOYED AS A CARPENTER. IN 1851 OR 52 HE MARRIED RACHEL LOUISA (OR LOUISE) CATHCART, AND THE COUPLE REMAINED IN ROCK HILL (formerly Yorkville) UNTIL C.1867, WHEN THE FAMILY MOVED VIA RAILROAD AND OX CART TO HUNT COUNTY, TX. |
