| I am looking for the parents of ISSAC MARTIN HOWE born 1-23-1815and his wife,SALLY ANN HOWE born in 1816 or 1817 somewhere in New York State. They were married in NY and their first 3 children (Amelia, Ann Eliza, & Hekiel) were born there somewhere between 1840 and 1844. They moved to Michigan where their fourth child (Sally A) was born in 1845 or 1846. In 1848 or 1849, their son, George, was born in Elkhart, Elkhart, Elkhart County, Indiana. (This information was confirmed via the 1850 Indiana census records). On 10-27-1856 JAMES BUCHANNAN HOWE was born in Elkart, Indiana. (there is suspected to be other children between the 1850 census and the 1856 birth of James. James married Alma Rose Wood on February 1, 1882 in Indiana. Children of this marriage are: ALLEN LAWRENCE HOWE(our direct ancestor)born 11-26-1886., Fredrick I., born & died in 1883., & Richard Howe 6-25-1884 (these 3 being born in Illinois)The family then migrated to Nebraska and had 4 more children: Arlow James born Nov 10,1889., Walter Henry born 3-14-1894, and William Lathrop born July 5, 1900 in or near Kearney, Buffalo County, Nebraska. I am having a difficult time trying to trace the ancestry of either Issac or Sally. Any information to get me going again is deeply appreciated. Thanks, Gayle |
