| My ggrandfather was William McIVER, born 1814, County Tyrone NI, came to US in late 1840s, settled in Ray County, Missouri, where he was married in 1848 to Lucinda SULLENGER (born 1827 North Carolina). In 1850 census the couple had in their household an older male SULLENGER, born 1784 North Carolina. Lucinda died 1858, leaving (at least) four young children, one of whom, John Columbus McIVER, born 1853 in Richmond, MO, was my grandfather. In December 1881 John married Josephine Bonaparte MURRAY in Ray County. I am seeking information on parish or townland William McIVER came from, the port of embarkation, port of entry & date of arrival in US. Also wish to learn more of Josephine's ancestry. Her parents allegedly ran a hotel in Ray County. Their children were John, George, Paul and Edna. My father was Paul. I shall be glad to share information. |
