6. Elijah L.⁴ Ellison (William Vincent³, Robert², William¹) was born February 23, 1815 in GA, and died September 17, 1883 in Oden, AR. He married Julian Selethia Hamilton July 12, 1838, daughter of Cader Hamilton and Lucy Gates. She was born September 13, 1821 in Newton, GA, and died January 31, 1883 in Montgomery, AR.

By 1838 Elijah was buying and selling land in the Cherokee land
area. Many transactions were being made between the Ellison brothers
and relatives. In August 1837 he purchased Land Lot 500, 15th
District, 2nd Section from his brother Henry G. Ellison and in
January 1838 he purchased Land Lot 501, 15th District, 2nd Section.
December 1838 Elijah sold both Land Lots to David Putnam.

Elijah married Julian Salethia Hamilton on 26 July 1838 in Newton
County, Georgia. On the 1840 census they were residing next to her
father and mother. By 1850 Elijah moved to Cherokee county, where
he raised his family of four boys and four girls.

Elijah was a private in Loyall's Co.2 and fought in the Creek War.
At the age of 49 years 11 months he served the South in the Civil
War as private in the Cherokee Legion, Georgia State Guards Cavalry,
Company A. After the Civil War, he moved to Montgomery county
Arkansas with his wife and remaing children; John, William, Martha,
Mary and Lucy. He lived next to his brother Isreal and wife who had
moved to the area before the Civil War began.

Elijah and Julian are buried in the Goodner cemetery in Ogen,
Arkansas along with his sons John and William, their wives and his
brother Isreal.

10. Jonathan G.⁴ Ellison (William Vincent³, Robert², William¹) was born 1828 in Clark, GA, and died January 07, 1899 in Board Camp, Polk, AR. He married (1) Sevena Caroline Whitlock April 12, 1846 in Cherokee, GA. She was born 1830 in Cherokee, GA, and died 1850 in Cherokee, GA. He married (2) Nancy Manerva Whitlock July 22, 1851 in Cherokee, GA. She was born 1832 in GA, and died January 28, 1916 in Board Camp, Polk, AR.

Notes for Jonathan G. Ellison:
After the death of Sevena, Hezie and Bill were living with their
grandmother
Mary Ellison and Zeke and Sara were living with Sevena's parents
John and Sara Whitlock.
On 22 July 1851 Jonathan married Nancy Menerva Whitlock, (sister to
Sevena) in Cherokee county Georga. Nancy was born in 1832 and died
28 January 1916 in Board Camp, Polk county, Arkansas. Nancy M.
Ellison made application for a widow's pension for her husband's
military service during the Civil War. She states that John served
in the Confederate Army as a member of the 48th Alabama Regiment of
the Infantry from Alabama. She stated also that he served from April
1862 until June 1864. Johathan died 7 January 1899. in Polk county
Arkansas. This line is being researched by;
Dorothy Miller of Meana, AK. She sent information on the Gragg
family also.
