I am researching my family history on my grandfather Theodore Roosevelt Welch born on 2-2-1902 in Wayne,Nebraska and died on 12-31-1982 in Ekalaka,Mt. He married Eileen anna Pickens on 6-21-1925 in Baker, Mt. Eileen was born 7-30-1908 and died April 1992 in Ekalaka, Mt.
Theodore is the son of Charles Samuel Welch born 1860 in Galva, Illinois and he married Mary Helen McRae who was born 3-15-1862 in Little Isle of skye, Scotland. Mary Helens parents were Andrew McRae and Marion McLeod. Charles Samuels parents were Andrew Jackson Welch and Mary Gilday.
My grandmother Eileen Anna Pickens father was William Riley pickens born 2-22-1875 in Letart,west Virginia and died on 3-24-1970 in Montana. Williams parents were James Perry Pickens born 1840 and died 6-1914, and Mary Catherine Rickard born 11-19-1845 and died 2-27-1909 or 1908.
My grandmother Eillen Anna Pickens mother was Cora Pearl Riley born 3-6-1889 in Parkersburg,West Virginia and died 3-14-1967 in Ekalaka,Mt. William and Cora were married on 6-30-1904.
My great grandmother Cora's parents were Peter Riley and Anne Elliott. Anne had a son about 4 years older than Cora and his name was Van Ermer Brown born 9-16-1885 and died 12-28-1972. Vans father was Van B.Brown born 1858 and his parents were William Brown and Elizabeth. As far as I know Van B.Brown and Anne were never married. I don't know how many years Anne stayed with or married to Peter Riley but when Anne took Cora and left him she met a Charles Mooney. I don't think they were legally married but in name only. They had two children and named them Frank Mooney and Ila Mooney. Ila drowned about age 16 around 8-1-1911 in the Ohio river along with another girl. Frank I know had a daughter named Georgie or Georgia.
Peter Rileys fathers name was Marion J. Riley and died 10-20-1926 in Middleport,Ohio. I don't know who Peter Rileys mother was.
Anne Elliotts parents were Joseph Elliott born 1841, and Amanda Elliott or Mary Amanda Elliott born 6-10-1844 and died 12-24-1913. The newspaper clipping says that Joseph Elliott had died 14 years earlier and that she had married a William Woods in 1912, about a year before her death. I don't know what Amandas maiden name was or anything about her parents, or Josephs parents. I would appreciate any additional information.
As you will see, there are many blank spaces and even some of the information may not be quite accurate. If you know of any corrections please let me know.
