| I am researching the HOWARD family of Collin County, Texas. David Howard came to The Republic of Texas from Missouri as a family man seeking land under the Texas Colonization Law of 1841, and was issued a grant certificate by the "Peters Colony of Texas". In 1830 David HOWARD and his brother Jacob bought land in Cole County, Missouri. In the 1850 Collin County, Texas Census, David is listed as a 50 year old farmer, born in Tennessee. The family consisted of David, his wife Jane, and four children (Jonathan, Louisa J., Martha, and Jacob). (See WFT Vol 7, #4040) I have extensive information downline through Jacob (David's son), however; I know nothing upline from David. I would appreciate any information, and will share information with anyone. |
