Descendants & Ancesters of James Howell

The information contained in this site was compiled by Robert Leigh Howell from many sources, but mainly from dusty court house records in the Illinois Counties of Johnson, Pope, Hardin, Saline, Gallatin, Union, Jackson, Randolph, Franklin and Williamson. I have also visited many of the cemeteries where large and small contingents of my ancestors are buried throughout Southern Illinois. I hope the information I have gleened over a twelve year period from many sources will help others to make their connection to the Howell family a little easier. Perhaps some of the doors I have not been able to open will be opened by others and I can use their information to continue my quest.
