We have found our family through records left by my grandmother Christena Howell (maiden name Decker) on my father's side back to Cerdic, the first King of Wessex in the year A.D. 519 in detail. I have identified 14 Kings in my ancestry. Besides those from England they include "Gorm The Old", Viking King of Denmark from 880-940 A.D. and Vladimir II, Grand Duke of Russia from 1113-1125 A.D. On my side, we need more information on the McConnell's and the Boyd's. We are having trouble on my wife's side finding information on the Grunden's. We have traced my wife's Cloyed family ancestry to Robert Marshall b. Abt. 1622 in Langford, Bedfordshire, England, Sir Gilbert Marshall b. Abt. 1680 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, James Trice b. March 21, 1640 in Northumberland, Huntingdon, England, and James Cloyed b. Abt. 1680 in Londonderry, Ireland. We have traced her Cundiff (Cundeiff)line to James Cundiff the father of Richard Cundiff who was born abt. 1638 in Billington, Yorkshire, England. Richard's son (also named Richard) lost two sons, Lt. Richard Cundiff and Ensign Jonathan Cundiff, in the Battle of Point Pleasant, Virginia (Now West Virginia) on Oct. 10, 1774. We have traced her Kiefer line to Johann Wilhelm Kiefer born abt. 1667 in Langgoens, Hesse, Germany. Her 10th Great grandfather, James Trice was born March, 21, 1640 in Northumberland, Huntingdon, England.
