This page is about the Howes family from Oxford and Franklin Counties in Maine, United States. The tree starts with William de Hulse, who was born in 1316, in Chesire, England. He married Sibyl de Norbury about 1334 in Chesire, England. The name was changed to Hulse by his great-grandson Thomas Hulse, who was born in 1391 and died in 1421. The name was then changed to House by John Hulse, who was Thomas Hulse's third great-grandson. He was born in 1560 and died in 1630. The name was changed once more to Howes by William Parcher House. It is believed he changed it because he married his cousin. |
