| The HEARNE (O'Hearne), Divers Family History has been traced back to circa 1841 for the HEARNE surname and circa 1738 for the DIVERS surname. Research has been made possible through the recent connections of decendents in England, Canada and New Zealand. Their generosity in sharing information and carrying out research has been overwhelming and has allowed our family history to come alive. Our oldest known relatives (on my mother's side) go back to THOMAS DIVERS, born c.1738 in County Kent, England, my 5th great grandfather. Thomas married MARY HOGBEN on July 18, 1758 in Harrietsham, Kent. Born to them were 3 sons: Thomas(1758),William(1760) & John(1767) Our oldest known relatives (on my father's side) go back to DANIEL HEARNE, born May 1817 in Childrey, Berkshire, England. Daniel, married ANN LAWRENCE about 1844 in Childrey, Berkshire, England. Born to them in Childrey were: Thomas (1845), Walter (1851), Harriett Ellen (1854), James Henry (or Henry James) 1858 and my great grandfather Arthur Hearne, August 30, 1861.
