| The Howells have been in San Diego County since 1869. Our ancestors settled in the gold mining town of Julian, about 60 miles east of the City. Dad's side was: Joseph Farley of Iowa, his wife Sarah Robison of ILL., Frank Harritt of Pictou Nova Scotia, and Carl Edwin Howell of Indiana. We have quite a bit on them already. Mom's side arrived here in 1921-1922. They were: Carl Peter McCauley and Anna Lucille Kirch of Iowa. They have been a bit of a mystery and we are seeking any and all help with them. We hope to link up with other decendants of these lines. 3/10/01 Bill Howell in San Diego |
