| I have been collecting information about my family for the past 15 years. My paternal grandfather (Gritsuk)originated from Belarus (Belorussia)near Brest and Grodno, and my paternal grandmother (Schnierer) originated from Preividza, Slovakia. They both immigrated to Canada (Alberta) in just before WW1. My parents were born in Canada. My Maternal Grandfather (Krysta)originated from Kiev, Ukraine and my maternal Grandmother (Krawec) originated from Rogatin, near L'Viv, Ukraine. They also immigrated to Canada just before WW1 to Alberta. The paternal family name was orignially Gritsuk (Belarus) or Grychuk (Poland). It was changed by Canadian immigration upon my Grandfathers entry into Canada in 1910. If you have any information that could help me, I thank you in advance. I will share any information I can as well. |
