St. John's Church was the second Anglican church erected in Nova Scotia (1754).

"The first parish register of Lunenburg must have commenced by Moreau when in Halifax as appears by date of the first entries. The first baptism registed after the date of the settlement of Lunenburg is that of Charles, son of Johannes and Gertrnde von Hoboken, the first marriage, "July 10th, 1753, Ulrich Hubley to Anna Cath. Treffian."
