1. ARCHIBALD1 BUIE was born Abt. 1750 in presumably in Bladen County, North Carolina1. He married SARAH MCFETTER (MCPHATTER) Abt. 1775 in North Carolina1. She died Abt. 1775 in North Carolina.
Notes for ARCHIBALD BUIE:
Archibald, Sr. left NC forever after his wife's death and left Archibald, Jr. with the Mc Fetter family.
Per Bordeaux Buie: Archibald was a Scotch soldier in the English Army during the revolution (more likely that he is a descendent of the early NC immigrant Buie's and was actually a Tory-Scotch Soldier.
There is a monument to the Bladen Co, Buie's at the Brown Marsh Presbyterian Church near Clarkton, NC which states: "In memory of the Buie family [who] descended from Scottish Highlander Fore parents who left there homes in Argyllshire in 1725 and made new homes and lives in the New World in North Carolina along the "Valley of the Cape Fear River" The date of 1725 is probably incorrect since no Buie's appear in NC records prior to 1739. However we are now searching SC records as there is evidence of our Buie's there.
Buie Book: He was probably a Tory Soldier who was expelled from North Carolina after Moore's Creek Bridge
