19. Jane aka:Jincy Erwin, born Abt. 1755 in Augusta County, VA; died 1864 in Stokes County, NC. She was the daughter of 38. Matthew Erwin and 39. Elizabeth ????.
Notes for Robert Aistrop: The name Aistrop (Astrop, Aestrop, Astrip, Eastrip) came from England and Denmark. The Chronicles of Scotch-Irish settlements in Va. Vol I. by Chalky 1745-1800 page 248 - On 3/24/1787 Robert Aistrop got license to handle retail goods. page 257 - On 4/21/1789 R. Aistrop got license of merchant-Saunton, VA. In Vol. III. Robert Aistrop made will on 11/16/1790. page 191. On page 295 - 17th August, 1790 - copy of will: ROBERT AISTROP WILL: To my wife Jane: lot opposite the court house, bought of Chamblee and Mustoe; Lot no. 6 bought of McDowell: house,stable, and 1/4 acre lot above Mr. Mustoe dwelling, opposite the church. To children alive now: Henry, Jesse, Elizabeth, Polly. My wife to be the executrix and Alex St. Clair and Anthony Mustoe executors. To James Holmes - on July 1789 I owe 30 lbs for one year as storekeeper; son Henry to be brought up as silversmith or some light trade, son Jesse to be brought up as cabinet maker or shop joiner. (Will proved 12/21/1790 - see Deed Book No. 23, page 559).
Robert Aistrop came from Middlesex (London), England in the year 1772 to America. He was 27 years old. Listed in Immigration CD#352.
Aistrop is an ancient Lincolnshire Family from England and traces its ancestry as a family of Anglo-Saxon origin before the year 1100 and appears first in the ancient records of Lincolnshire.
Notes for Jane aka:Jincy Erwin: After the death of Robert Aistrop, Jane married James Holmes, their storekeeper. They were married by the Rev. John McCue on 11/22/1791 in Staunton, Augusta County, VA. They continued to live in Staunton and were there as late as 11/24/1798 when James Holmes and wife Jane (late Jane Aistrop) executrix of Robert Aistrop's will, was summonded to appear and give courty security. Augusta county was organized in 1745.
It is not known when the family moved to Stokes County. They were living in Stokes when their eldest daughter Elizabeth (Eastrip) married Soloman Atkinson on 4/8/1804. Evidently they had changed the name fropm Aistrop to Eastrip. It is now know whether Jane went by Erwin or Braden. Her father died when she was a baby and her mother married Edward Braden and had eight children with him.

Jesse Aistrop, born Abt. 1780; died December 05, 1858 in Letcher Co., KY; married Susannah Williams January 14, 1802 in Staunton, VA. 9 iv. Mary aka:Polly Aistrop, born 1786 in Culpepper County, VA; died 1864 in Stokes County, NC; married Robert Young December 20, 1804 in Stokes County, NC
