This picture, dated 30 Sept., 2001, was taken during a family outing to the Waldrip Bridge, a 100 year old bridge over the Colorado River of Texas. This 626' long bridge, which is on highway 322 near Doole, Texas, was considered a remarkable engineering achievement when it was built. It was recently declared unsafe and closed. This is a view of the Colorado river from the Waldrip bridge. After our foray to the old bridge, we went to Lake Ivy for a family picnic.
