Although a heart attack and stroke forced me to retire, I still needed something to do. So, I rekindled my interest in Bluegrass Music, which was one of my main interests as a teenager. This is my band, the Western Skies Bluegrass Band playing at the annual bluegrass festival in Big Lake, Texas. Our band is devoted to preserving bluegrass music. The roots of this music were brought to America by our Scotch-Irish ancestors. Our Appalachian ancestors then developed that music into bluegrass music.
