Johann Andreas Eckel (b. 07 July 1773, d. 28 February 1834)

Johann Andreas Eckel (son of Johann Andreas Eckel and Margaretha Gertrude Priesterbach)²⁵⁶ was born 07 July 1773 in Wendelsheim, Hessen Germany²⁵⁶, and died 28 February 1834 in Baltimore, Maryland²⁵⁶. He married Elizabeth Nagel on 31 January 1799 in St Michaels and Zion Lutheran Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania²⁵⁶, daughter of Rudolph Nagel and Susannah Margaretha Schwalbach.

He was a Ensign, Lieutenant, and from 1807 Captain. He was still holding his rank in 1813.
Some time befor 1828 he apparently left his wife and children and went to Baltimore, where he died six years later.
