Was a Blacksmith and a Veteran of the Civil War. Enlisted 15 March 1865 in Phila., Pa.
According to the Census; In 1866 he was a Blacksmith. In 1880 he was a carpet weaver.Living in Quinton, Salem County, next door to Hannah's sister Charlotte with her husband and nine of their children.
He drown in a canal.

Henry Treude, of Bristol, a veteran of the late war , fell into a canal, on Friday night of last week and was drown. His body was found on Wednesday.

Drown in Bristol. John H. Trude, member of Philip Schuyler Post # 51 G.A.R. of Philadelphia, who resided in Bristol for several years and who had been missing since last Friday was found drowned in the canal near his home Wednesday morning. Owning to the condition of his remains he was buried the same afternoon, the Harry Clay Beatty Post, of Bristol, Conveying his remains to the grave.

There was an Inquisition done on the body of John Trued, Bristol Boro., 11 Oct.,1894. Criminal Doc. 1893 Page 119
These papers show he died in the Delaware Division Canal, in manner unknown to jury.
His death record has his name spelled Truede. He was buried Oct.10,1894. He was buried as an indigent at the Methodist Cemetery, Bristol, Pa.
My grandmother Marion Elizabeth Haas, Evans, Haussmann made a note in her papers that the family dropped the "e" in "Treude" & just used "Trude".
John & Hannah were married by the Rev. Nicholas Gehrl, German Reformed, 1230 N. 6th St.
When his son Lewis was born Lewis's birth certificate says Seven children by this marriage with three living. At the time of Lewis's birth his occupation was a mechanic.
In the 1870 Census they were living with John Stinger and family.
