Some information on Johann Michael and his immediate family is from William Robert Malloy's pedigree in World Family Tree Volume #2, Tree #3137. Also from "The Kuglers of Providence" by Charles R. Barker as found in "The Perkiomen Region" Vol. VIII April 1930 pgs 34-42.
Unable to locate Johann Michael's baptism in the Großgartach church records 1713-24.
A member of the New Hanover Lutheran Church in Frederick Township, Montgomery County, Pa. where his American born children were baptised.
In the 1769 Proprietary Tax list for Montgomery County, PA (originally part of Philadelphia County) there is: "Koogler, Michael, 125 acres, 3 horses, 1 cattle, Tax: 10 Ls, 16 Shillings, 8 pence, Township: Providence"
In "The Perkiomen Region" Vol. VIII, April 1930 page 36, is the following description of where Johann Michael Kugler's 125 acre farm lay in Dec. 1775, after he sold it to his son John: "a road, laid out from the river Schuykill, beginning at Halmon's Ford, in David Longacre's land, thence running to Henry Ryner's mill on Parqueoman (Perkiomen Creek), thence into Reading road near the English Church, has cut the enclosed ground of John Coogler 'into pieces', but after a hearing of the case, the road appears to have remained on the map."
