Surname spelled with or without a "t" at the end. e.g. Conradt. Matthias died before 1700 when his wife Ursula died listed as a widow. Following is from Erich Langguth's letter to James Lawrence dated December 15, 2000: The birth name of Matthias Conrad's third wife Ursula, is written both as Eltelin and Eltelein; at that time Etlelin was the somewhat older form and Eltelein a more modern manner. Matthias Conrad himself was a baker. He died at the age of 81 years on 2 August 1681, and was therefore born far earlier than you supposed. He was also not a son of Niclas/Nicolaus [Conrad], his father rather was Martin Conrad.

In the Stiftskirche burial records (LDS film #1238276) there is Niclas Conrad, baker, who died May 20, 1694 at the age of 83 years. Matthias' father. Also Anna Margaretha, Niclas Conradt's widow (Witwe) age 70 years 24 weeks 3 days, died on October 14, 1714. Not Matthias' mother since she was born after Matthias. Possibly a brother's wife. Also a burial listing on Nov. 9, 1708 for Johann Michael, 28 years 5 months and 2 days old, son of Niclas Conradt. Burial on May 31, 1720 of Georg Conrad, Bürger u. Becker, alter 45 Jahr. On November 9, 1708 there is a burial for Johann Michael, son of Niclas Conrad, aged 26 years, 5 months and 2 days. Possibly Matthias' grandson.
