Per Sower's Newspaper of October 23, 1761, as found on page 95 of "German Settlers of Penna." "Conrad Schweitzer and Johann Becker, Philadelphia, have rented the board wharf of Thomas Mayer, next to Salter's Wharf."

To each of daus. £100 when 21 (not named). Remainder of estate to son John when 21, subject to wife's life interest. Payments on account of daughters Lydia and Ann during their minority. His 4 sons were Fredrich, Heinrich, Georg Ludwig, and Simon. Conrad's 1st wife died before or on that voyage, unnamed Mrs Conrad; and since the 4 sons were born abt 1745 to 1749 in Mannheim, Germany, he remarried a widow with 4 ch, (her maiden name ??)Mrs Maria Magdalena (?)mar 1st abt 1744y PA to Mathias Butterfuss in 1750y Philadelphia- 4 dgts seem to have been 1-Leah mar 2x Jacob Henry Clemens, 2nd to James Taylor; 2- Maria mar Micheal Bamberger; 3- Barbara -?unmar?; 4-Michael Butterfuss who served in Rev War as Switzer - missing from PA Militia "gone to enemy?" although later name in 4th Vacant Co under Capt. Henry Meyers???? same or other?. The widow & widower had 4 more ch, very confusing record after 1750 and earlier - with total 12 ch. may be Margaret, Conrad Jr, Catherine, Elizabeth. My lack of interest in family not my own may have caused the assumption or mixup of this Catherine as marr Phila Militia Capt Henry Meyer and her Rev War bro Michael- Need a genius like you to provide clarity! Anyway, I believe your gtgnd Simon was the same as my 1749 arrival Simon, son of Conrad- He was b abt 1745y GER Mannheim, lived at 2 Cable Hill Farm in Philadelphia with stepmother and family after 1762-?bought farm? What did Conrad Schweitzer do in Philadelphia 1750 remarr, now 8 ch & wife to support?
