In the July 21, 1870 issue of the Boone County Journal, page 1, column 3, the following appears: "Alexander Douglass was born in Madison county, Kentucky, in 1801; came to Missouri in 1810, and settled in St. Louis county. In 1818 he removed to Boone county, where he has lived ever since. Disfranchised."

Alexander's death was reported in the Moberly Daily Enterprise Monitor, Saturday, 2 June 1877.

Elizabeth Douglass was the daughter of William and Mary Hensley, who came to Missouri from Virginia in 1839, according to information from Ruth Minner, who obtained it from Mrs. Bolli's daughter.

Weekly Missouri Statesman newspaper, 22 June 1877: "Died - DOUGLASS - In Boone county, Missouri on Wednesday, June 20, 1877, Mrs. Ann, widow of the late Alexander Douglass, Esq., aged about 55 years." Which Ann was this?
