Hello. I would like to introduce myself and my project. My name is Myra J. Hudson and I am researching my husband's family name (obviously), HUDSON.Dr. John Murry HUDSON b. 1835, VA. m. Emma COPELAND b. 1870, Lindsay, Ontario one child born to this union, John Murry, Jr. b. 1891, Macon, GAThe 1900 census lists this family as living in Helena, AR.Dr. Hudson was a veterinary surgeon. His name can be found in the "Veterinary Review" on pg.147-148 as he was part of the organization of the first Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association in Little Rock, AR -1907. Then called "The Arkansas Veterinary Society".John M., Jr. m. Mattie E. PERKINS b. 1893 (either in OK or AR, supposedly on 'Indian' territory.) Daughter of Samuel R. PERKINS & M. C. PHILLIPS of Eureka Springs, AR m. May 1, 1892Dr. Hudson's parents names are unknown at this time. However, his father was born in VA and his mother was born in Scotland. We have a hunch that the middle name, Murry (or Murrey or Murray) may have been Dr. Hudson's mothers' maiden name. But you never know!Dr. Hudson died between 1915 & 1930, either in AR or MO.After his death, Emma married Samuel R. PERKINS. They lived in Grandin, MO. Emma died in Sept. 1954. Samuel grieved for her until his death just eight months later.I would enjoy hearing from anyone researching them or any of these surnames and/or towns listed.Contact me Steve4Myra@aol.com
