Conrad Ryer was born in Niederthathausen, Germany in 1757. He was pressed into the Hessian army and fought in North America until 1783, when he came with other refugees of the American Revolution to Nova Scotia. He married three times and at least 20 children have been recorded.
Ryers still live in Nova Scotia. We would like to hear from relatives in other regions.
