Much of this research would have been impossible without the careful research of my cousins Edd Painter and Sue Hair, my father Miller Newton Hudson Jr., and the encouragement of my wife Jo Ann Marsh Hudson and son Paul. To all of them I am deeply indebted. There are additional lines going back to William the Conqueror, Alfred the Great, and Charlemagne including probable ones via Mary Wellman and Sarah Standish among others. None of these can be assumed proven. The line via Hannah Fessenden which includes all ancestors of Edward IV is possibly the most compelling. However Jo Ann ( my wife and 7th cousin, once removed ) descends from Charlemagne via Lydia Wight ( gggggg grandmother of Jo Ann and Mary Howard ( my mother ), and I descend through both my father's line ( Luellor Atchison ) and Mother's line ( Sibbel Marsh and Nathan Howard, among numerous paths ). Thanks to Edd Painter and Sue Hair virtually all my second and third cousins are listed in this genealogy.
