The Crowson, Conder, Granger & Bolander-Bolinger Families

Updated April 22, 2004

I am researching the ancestors of my mother, Evelyn Mae Granger Crowson. The surnames from her father's line are: GRANGER, ADAMS, HANCHETT, KENT, FROST, MARKHAM, SIMONS, MCNITT, CARPENTER, EDMONDS, EXTANCE, SHUTES, PHELPS, BUTCHER, BREEDING, CADY, KNAPP, LEE, WINTER, MARSH, AUSTIN, AND SIPLE. Most of these families came from England to Massachusetts, then on to Connecticut and Vermont. Many then moved west to New York and later to Michigan, settling in or around Kalamazoo County. After the Civil War, about 1868, a large group of related familes moved to Henry County, Missouri, and on to Kansas and Texas, where my mother was born.
Surnames from her mother's line are: BOLENDER, BOLANDER, BOLINGER, BOLLINGER, SHINKLE, FRONK, MARTIN, MORTON, BURNETT, BRADFORD. The Bolander's came from Germany to Pennsylvania, then to Brown and Clermont Counties in Ohio. They then moved on to Indiana, Missouri, and ended up in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, where I was born.

If you see a name you wish information on, please contact me. I'm always happy to share what I have. I would also love to hear from anyone with more to add.
