My family research includes the Cobine/Bratton/Welton/Lawrence families and their ancestors.

Any information you would like to share on these families would be appreciated.

The Cobine Family is my paternal grandfather's family.
The Cobine research goes back to Samuel and Ann Cobine who came to the United States from Ireland. Samuel and Ann immigrated with 4 of their children on board the ship "Anglia" landing in New York on November 17, 1870. Another child, Samuel (my great-grandfather) had entered the United States on board the "Columbia", landing in New York City July 8, 1861. From there they settled in Edwardsville, Illinois.

The Bratton Family is my maternal grandfather's family.
Much of my Bratton Family research came from a copy of "The Bratton Family" by Mrs. Thad Bratton, an unpublished book dated in the 1950's. I also got a lot of information from the Bratton website. My information goes back to Robert Bratton and wife Betsy "Farrand" Bratton who were early settlers of Whitingham, Vermont, arriving there about 1770. I also got a lot of information from the "Welton Workbook" by Edward Read Hall.

The Welton Family is my maternal grandmother's family.
Most of the information I have on the Welton Family came from the "Welton Workbook" by Edward Read Hall dated in the late 1990's. Edward was my cousin and he worked many years on this information and graciously shared with everyone before his death from Cancer in 1995. Edward researched the Welton Family back to 1550 at Suffolk, England.

The Lawrence Family is my Paternal grandmother's family.
I have very little on the Lawrence family however Hiram Lawrence, my great-grandfather married Marjory Wemple and I have a lot of information on the Wemple side of the family, thanks to the information on the internet on the Wemple's.

I will also be forever grateful to Ancestry.com for a great deal of information an all of the branches of my family tree.

There is another branch of the Cobine Family that I have not been able to connect to my ancestors. That family belongs to another Cobine gentleman who has shared so much of his research with me in hopes that we could someday connect the two families. The two families both settled in Edwardsville, Illinois and research shows they shared first names as well down through the generations. One gentleman of this other family even signed my great-uncle's death certificate. This research has been very difficult because of the loss of information in Ireland.
