Gaffney--Pearl Stonecypher George, 94, formerly of 212 N. Logan St., died June 12, 1990, in Brookview House.A native of Georgia, she was the widow of John Sidney George and daughter of the late James L. and Frona Blalock Stonecypher.She was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church and was a homemaker.Survivors include a daughter, Catherine G. Holmes of Gaffney; two sons, J.S. and the Rev. S.O. George of Gaffney; three sisters, Lucy C. Addington of Buford, Ga., Thelma M. Oshields of Cummings, Ga., and Tamer Davis of Darien, Ga., six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral chapel by Dr. Clyde Thomas and the Rev. Clarence Hampton.Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.The family is at 321 Pleasant Meadows, Gaffney.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Together We Build Fund or the Organ Fund of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.
