King Families of Kentucky- Estill, Clark, Clay & Madison Co.
Researching the KING families of Estill County Kentucky. There seems to be two (2) branches that came from Virginia to this area. They may be related earlier in Virginia.======================================================= 1---- JOSPEH KING, Sr.- lived in Henry Co., VA and Pittsylvania Co. VA before going to Clark Co.,Kentucky about 1799. JEREMIAH KING was the son of the above and also lived in Clark and Estill Counties, Kentucky. Married to SARAH they had 10 children: Elizabeth,Jackson,Jeremiah Jr.,Mary "Polly", William, Sally Sarah, Benjamin, Samuel and JOSEPH HENRY KING. JOSEPH HENRY KING married Rhoda TOWNSEND in Estill Co.,on 20 NOV 1810 and soon moved to Webb City, Jasper Co./ Crawford Co., MO. Some of their children were: James Townsend, Samuel Anderson, Jeremiah III, Eliza, Nancy, Joseph III., America SAMUEL ANDERSON KING- settled in Will Co.,IL married to Eva Bailey (Baily) Children: John Quincy Adams KING, Jeremiah Josphus KING, Henry Clay KING, Julia Ann King, Mary Louisianna KING. HENRY CLAY KING -moved to Bent's Fort,Colorado and then to Farmington, New Mexico. He married Elizabeth RHODES.========================================================2---- MAJOR KING- of Amherst Co., VA. His brothers: JESSE KING, Sr., Zachariah KING,John King...too! )Major married Celia (Sealy) Puckett. Children: Samuel, Lucy, Amelia, William, Skyler, Thankful ,Nathan ,Malinda, Elandor and Jacob.=============================================================I have researched almost every KING marriage record in Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, West Virginia, Ohio , Maryland and Tennessee. I will be happy to share for those who have clues that might connect them to these two lines. |
