Greetings, I am researching both sides of my family; my parents have the surnames of Hughes (father) and Roebuck (mother). The Roebuck tree goes back to George Roebuck 1820 (born at Carlton Green in the Parish of Royston, Barnsley; but the birth was registered by his mother in Ecclesfield)and Anne Roebuck (nee Hattersley) 1820. New information has come to light that listed as father on George's birth certificate is Joseph Rodgerson c1792 I am currently trying to find George Roebucks father ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ My Father was Albert Hughes and he was born in Gillingham, Kent 0n 2nd December 1915. He joined the army (The Royal Artillery) enlisting in Middlesbrough, England on 2nd May 1935. He served in India from 11th November 1937 until 23rd November 1941. He returned home with shrapnel wounds on 24th November 1941 and left the Army on 13th April 1942. My Grandfather (Hughes)was William and his wife was Ada Hughes nee Brackenbury. An address of ## King Street, Gillingham, Kent, England was shown on my fathers birth certificate along with the registration district of Medway. William Hughes was a Stoker in the Royal Navy at the time of my fathers birth in 1915. Specifically, I am trying to find out anything I can about William Hughes and Ada Hughes (nee Brackenbury) and Joseph Rodgerson c1792. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. |
