| I am researching my ggg grand father, John HUGGINS, who enlisted in Capt. Caldwell's Company of Rangers on June 26, 1775, at Ninety Six, SC along with his three younger brothers, James, Andrew, and William. He stated he was 28 years old and born in PA. His brothers were born in VA. John moved to middle TN about 1803 along with his wife Mary (Polly) and died in the 1820's. His children were: William, Sarah, John Jr., Jonathan, Elizabeth, Robert D., Mary Ann, Priscilla, James, and Isabella. Many of his descendants stayed in middle TN, including Capt. Amariah Louis Huggins, Huggins Light Artillery Battery of the Army of Tennessee. Yes, his battery did accompany Nathan Bedford Forrest's Calvary at times. I will be happy to share what I have. Any help from you would be very much appreciated. |
