The Maxwell & Dessus Families Home Page

Updated July 15, 2004

I am researching the family of Leola Maxwell who was born in Thomasville, GA on October, 1904. Leola left Georgia at the age of 17 years old. She moved to Philadelphia with her mother, Frances and sister Eunice.

Eunice married Chamis Clark and they had four Children, three boys and one girl. So far I have met Doris, Bernard, Clarence, but there is no information on their families.

NOTE: THE MAXWELL FAMILY HAVE A REUNION EVERY OTHER YEAR. THE NEXT ONE WILL BE IN 2005, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, E-MAIL ME.

In addition, I am researching the family of Polandanzo (Ponzie)Dessus who was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on January 15, 1904. He had two sisters, one name Rosa and the other name Conchita. Talk in family, was the sisters remained in New York upon arrival to the states. Polandanzo (Ponzie) and his father moved to Philadelphia. His father (Pedro Dessus)lived here in Philadelphia at 12th & Carpenter Street. He was the oldest (100 years old upon his death) living wheelcart maker. There was an article in the newspaper (around 1962)some years back about him. If you have the article, please mail me a copy. The name of Dessus is very odd.

If any of this is familiar, Please contact me with any questions.
