It is my pleasure to announce that the Maxwell Family share DNA ancestry with the Mafa and Hide peoples of Cameroon and the Ibo people of Nigeria in West Africa. I am always looking to find other family members or information about our ancestors. If you or anyone you know have information or questions, please feel free to email me. DESSUS FAMILIES In researching the Dessus family history, I have documented that our ancestor Polandanzo and his sisters were born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Polandanzo (Ponzie) Dessus was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on January 15, 1904 to Pedro and Justina Clavell Dessus. Ponzie had two sisters named, Rosa and Conchita. I believe Father, son and daughters came to New York from Puerto Rico. Rosa lived in the Bronx, before moving to California where she died (Social Security Death Index). It was family talk that Conchita was hit and killed by a car in New York. I believe there are children of the sisters still living in various parts of New York and New Jersey. It's not known when or why father and son left New York and moved to Philadelphia. Polandanzo met and married Rosa Mosley (deceased)they had three children, whose names are Pedro(deceased)and Alonzo(deceased)and one daughter Rosa. Polandanzo later met and married Rachel Bell (deceased)and they had eight children, whose names are Rachel, Roland (deceased), Nettie (deceased), Vicent (deceased), Conchita, Gloria, Rosetta, Alvin. Polandanzo (Ponzie) Dessus died on April 5, 1970 at the age of 66 yrs. at Philadelphia General Hospital and was buried at Eden Cementary in Collingdale, PA. His father (Pedro) lived at 12th & Carpenter Streets I believe until his death. He was the oldest living wheelcart maker in Philadelphia. There was an article written about him in one of the Philadelphia newspapers before or around 1962. If you have the article, please send me a copy. Dessus Family DNA test could not pinpoint a place of ancestry, only that we share ancestry with people living throughout Europe. There are many Dessus living in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Florida, France, Switzerland and various counties in Puerto Rico. If you have any information or known facts about the Dessus Families, please email me.
