Dear reader and potential cousins,
As a preliminary note, I just want to let you know that the information contained in these pages has NOT all been proven by me. Some is my own primary research, some data is based on the research of others, and some information has been found on the web and been included in my records as is to await further research to document or disprove them. I know there are errors, omissions, and other problems in my data, so PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME IT IS CORRECT OR COMPLETE! DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, OR YOU CAN NEVER BE SURE. I welcome all corrections, comments, suggestions, and especially all new cousins! Let me know if we possibly connect and how - I look forward to hearing from you.
-Keri

Brief Summaries:
Hughes / Dusenberry and Venters / Marsh- North and South Carolina. --Earliest known Hughes ancestor is Meredith Hughes Esquire, arrived from England in late 1690's or early 1700's at Georgetown area in SC to serve as a trade factor with the local natives. My Hughes line remained in the Williamsburg County SC area throughout the years.
Brock - both the McMinn Co Tennessee and the Bledsoe Co Tennessee family groups. (Mary Ann Brock b Mar 09, 1855 in Bledsoe Co Tennessee married Henry Clay (Cleveland) Brock b Jan 10, 1842 in McMinn Co TN)
Harrison - Samuel Harrison b Jan 1835 in Tennessee married Mary J. Thorn b March 1837, daughter of James Thorn, Jr and Nancy Marshall. I have not been able to determine Samuel's parentage or siblings. Samuel and Mary are seen in Bedford Co Tennessee in 1860 and 1870. In 1880 they are in Marshall County TN, and moved to Fannin Co Texas in the late 1880's.
Cathey / Prater / Workman / Bumpus / Johnston / McKenzie --Earliest documented Cathey ancestor is Samuel L Cathey b 1777 SC, brother of Sarah Greenfield Cathey Mullins (married "Counterfeitin' Sol" Mullins). SC - NC - TN - OK
--I have extensive information on Prater family thanks to Gary Benton Prather, accepted expert on Prater/Prather genealogy.
--Miss Alice Cordellia Bumpus b Mar 28, 1870 in Illinois married John Wesley Workman who was born abt 1858 in Texas. They were married May 26, 1888 in Gainesville, Greene Co, Arkansas, and lived in or around Bonham, Fannin Co, Texas - daughter Mary "Mollie"'s obituary says she was born in Bonham Tx Oct 25, 1889 and moved to Indianola, Pittsburg Co, OK in 1907. Alice married Rube Daniels in about 1903, and they appear in the 1910 Pittsburg Co Oklahoma census - don't know if Alice was widowed or divorced. Alice is a daughter of Lewis Nathan Bumpus, son of Nathan Bumpus.
--Miss Isabella McKenzie, born Apr 07, 1776 in NC and died Apr 18, 1858, married Alexander Wilson Johnston, Sr who was born Jul 07, 1777 in NC (his father John possibly immigrated from Angus, Scotland). They were married about 1800. I know quite a bit about the Johnstons - would love to find more data on Isabella McKenzie's family.
