I am researching my family history in the hopes of making a family tree/ memoir album. The first name that I am researching is Rodger Gordon (I am not sure of the correct spelling of the first name), he was born in South Carolina and lived there with his first wife unitl her death, when he met and married Lousie Howland. I am also researching the surname Howland. Louise was born in Illinois and raised in South Carolina by her aunt and uncle after her mother was killed in a car wreck. Her father was never a slave and was independently wealthy.
In addition to researching my fathers family I am looking for my mothers family as well. My great-grandfather's name was Andrew Daniels and his wife was Julia(I do not know her maiden name). My maternal great-grandfather's name was Wash Spencer and his wife's name was Pearl( I don't have her maiden name either). Both of these families were from Virginia, and I beleive that they were at one time slaves before the abolition of slavery.
