I am researching the "Brawley" name. My research has taken me back to where the name was spelt "Braly" and orginated in, Ulster, Londonderry Co., Ireland, Ireland. After settling in Rowan Co. NC, USA "Hugh Prior Braly" apparently changed the spelling of his last name with the birth of his son John born, July 16,1789 in Guliford, NC to "Brawley" "John Brawley" married "Easter Dickey" and one of their children, "William Carrol Brawley" married "Mavilla or Brilla Davis" in 1882 at, Ellington, Reynolds Co. Missouri. They had two sons, "Samuel H." and "Hugh Brawley." "Samuel H. Brawley" married "Lucinda Barker" at Ellington,MO in 1873. I know of four children they had, "William Franklin, 3-6-1876", "Minnie", "Dolly Jane" 1877, and "Fannie" 3-1881. "William Franklin" married "Ida May Haywood" December 24,1893. They had three sons, "Robert Franklin, 9-11-1894", "James Otto, 1898" and "Wilmer E. 1-6-1905." "Wilmer E." lived one year and two days, dying 1-8-1906. "Robert Franklin" married, "Dova Fanny Wooldridge" 10-15-1915 in Reynolds, MO and they had two children, "Robert Franklin Jr. 5-14-1919" and "Mary Anita, 11-21-1921" "Dova Fanny" died from cancer 7-3-1947 in San Fernando, CA The family had moved to Newhall, CA from Little Rock AR in 1924. "Robert Franklin Sr." married again to, "Frances Prior" of Little Rock Arkansas in 1949 and brought her back to CA to live. "Robert Franklin Sr." died 1-12-1973 in Granda Hills, CA from a large intestine surgery complication. "Mary Anita" died 3-4-1996 in Newhall, CA from high blood pressure and kidney failure. "Robert Franklin Jr" married "Betty Jane Allen" 1-14-1943 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had four children, "Mary Jane" 4-23-1944, "Barbara Jean" 1-25-1946, "Kathleen Anita" 6-21-1950 and "William Kenneth" 9-27-1951. "Robert Franklin" died 10-16-1978 in Grand Junction, CO from a blood clot breaking loose going directly to his heart. This covers the basics. I have uploaded all my files to FTM web site in hopes to find other family members willing to share and fill in the blank areas about our families with each other. I am, "Mary Jane" [called Jane], the oldest child of "Robert Franklin Jr." and "Betty Jane Allen" After I am able to complete more of my fathers ancestory I will continue working on my mothers ancestory. the "Allen's" to be abstracted at a later date. |
