I became interested in my Geneology at about 13 years of age, when my grandmother Margaret Ryan Dabney was notified of her husband's death in California in 1948.

She had married Thomas G. Dabney, against her parents wishes. When she became pregnant, he took off, never to be heard from again, until his death. He never saw his daughter Mary Clarina
Dabney.

I started looking in the old days when no one had computers. My
dad and I took oral records and everything we could get from the
census bureau and books of the region of Macon County, MO.

I put aside all these records for years and when I got my first
computer I began again.

What a revelation to find that Thomas Dabney had come from such a prominent family, which stretches back to the King of England

I would like to dedicate this search to my mother Mary Clarina
Dabney and my father James Patrick Rogers, and to my grandmother, Margaret Ryan Dabney.
