Maxine Hughes 15 Hughes Lane Mercer, PA 16137 max@infonline.net	I am researching the John Peter Vath family of Mercer Co., PA. He was b. 24 Oct 1810, Heidelberg, Germany. On the ship coming to America in the 1830's, he meant Frances Weber and they were married after they landed in New York. Frances Weber was b. abt 1810, Baden-On-The-Rhine. Their children were: John Peter Vath, b.1835, Buffalo, NY; Amelia, b. 1836, Norwalk, OH; Theresa, b. 1837, Norwalk, OH; Louisa, b. 1840, Sandy Lake, Mercer CO., PA; Charles, b. 1841, Sandy Lake, Mercer Co., PA; Lewis P. b. 1849, Sandy Lake, Mercer CO., PA; Harriet F., b. 1845, Sandy Lake, Mercer Co., PA and Joseph, b. 1849, Sandy Lake, Mercer Co., PA. John Peter Vath made application for naturalization, 22 Nov 1836 in Huron Co., OH and was naturalized in Mercer Co, PA on the 19 Sept 1844. John Peter Vath d. 19 July 1854, 44y 4m 5d, Sandy Lake, Mercer Co., interred in All Saints Cemetery, Coolspring Twp, Mercer Co., PA. Frances Weber Vath, d. 29 Aug 1868, 57y 14d, Sandy Lake Twp., Mercer Co., PA, interred in All Saints Cemetery. John Peter Vath was a Doctor. He also had a sister, Mary Ann "Amelia" Vath, she and her husband, George Albright, also came to America and settled in Mercer Co. They had seven daughters. There was also a brother who stayed in Germany, Philip Vath, he was also a Doctor. Would like to hear from anyone that is connected to this family. I am also researching Surnames of Greggs, Parker, Slater, Smith, Sweat and Perrine of Mercer Co., PA. These are of my paternal line. My maternal lines are Neal, Kuhn, Keller, Mauk, Mohney, Bittenbender, Averill, Bowers, Knerr, Passmore, Pierce and Bush of PA. Surnames of my husband that I am researching are Hughes, Blackstone and Gordon of Mercer Co., PA
